Linda Baughan
Position: Practice Manager since 1990
Here I am at my desk surrounded by computers and state of the art technology. I recognise the need for all of this and I can even operate most of it, but I also recognise a greater need for success is to be surrounded by good reliable colleagues that care about Dickinson Wood and care about the clients of Dickinson Wood, in the way I do.
My role here as practise manager can vary widely to picking up strewn rubbish as I walk through the car park to dealing with this quarters VAT return and employing new members of staff. One of my nicest roles is giving youngsters an opportunity here and watching them develop. I am proud to say that I have set many on a career path. I also enjoy saying to clients when they call “yes I remember your file when you purchased it 10 or 12 years ago and the same fee earners that completed your purchase will now do your sale and new purchase”. Clients do like to hear this.
Away from work you will catch me equally at home with a pint of Stella or a glass of champagne at my local polo club, based at Thoresby Polo Club and I can be found most weekends galloping at up to 30 miles an hour on my horse trying to hit the silly white ball.
My other passion, which is no secret, is I am a 15 year+ season ticket holder at Manchester United and have travelled to many European games to watch UTD including Barcelona and Moscow but like Dickinson Wood, Manchester United will always have a team to succeed with.

Having first worked for Dickinson Wood at the age of 13 on school work experience I find myself still here some 30 years later. My role now is obviously quite different.
I am in my 20th year of conveyancing and run a very busy residential conveyancing department with a large client and referrer base.
I am dedicated to, and take a lot of pride in, delivering a client care based service ensuring that all clients are provided with a service that is both personal yet completely professional and efficient at all times to ensure their house buying experience is a pleasure and not a pain. I am supported by an experienced top class team.
Outside of work I have been married to my wife Gemma since 2010 and have an amazing boy Harry who keeps us both well on our toes.
I have a love of House music that I indulge at summer festivals throughout the country and I have a particular passion for the game of Polo, which I play at Thoresby Polo Club on my ex racehorse Brian.
